Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita

An Authentic and Classical Luxury Mexican Resort
MARIA DIEGO

As you drive inside the gates of the gated community and home to the 400 acre nature reserve of Punta Mita, you’ll immediately feel like kicking off your shoes and getting your toes in the sand. The true spirit of Mexican hospitality is felt when the Four Seasons Punta Mita team offers a refreshing welcome cocktail and cold towel. Once you’ve settled into your home away from home, you can do or not do many of the exciting activities on offer – we primarily used our time to read and relax, but then had the opportunity to release baby sea turtles, which was a highlight of the trip.

General manager, John O’Sullivan, says “Here, you arrive as a guest, leave as a friend and return as family,” and that ethos is really felt throughout your stay at Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita.

Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita Location and Getting There:

Situated on a private peninsula overlooking Bahia de Banderas, one of the largest natural bays in the world, and between the Sierra Madre mountains and the Pacific Ocean, Nayarit isn’t well-known to foreign tourists, even though it’s only about 45 minutes away from the more popular Puerto Vallarta. Puerto Vallarta is the nearest international airport, with flights from cities across North America.

The vibe is distinctly relaxed and you won’t need to compete for space on the beach. And while being less crowded is undoubtedly a perk — the real appeal of Nayarit is the range of activities for every type of traveler. Guests love the gorgeous beaches, rich culture, and plentiful activities. Even though the resort is only 45 minutes from Puerto Vallarta, it feels a world away.

Watermen and women are also in luck here, with the resort being situated on one of the world’s largest natural bays, they have amazing snorkeling, scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, and seasonal whale watching.

While a couple of playful reef breaks can be found directly in front of the resort the rest of Punta Mita’s better known breaks such as El Faro and La Bahia are easily accessed by boat. The resort’s hidden perk however, is access to the private “EL Surf Club at La Lancha” for Four Seasons Guests.

If you’re looking for a unique, adults-only stay, the recently opened Naviva Four Seasons is also nearby and offers beautiful, luxury beach tent accommodation.
    Four Seasons Naviva
    Four Seasons Naviva
With 10 tents and 5 large tents, this is an all-inclusive resort that reconnects its guests with nature at the heart of a 19-hectare jungle beachfront location. This concept is intended to be more intimate and less formal, really extending the Mexican hospitality we saw at the Four Seasons Punta Mita with the concept of being welcomed into a friend’s house and being greeted by first name instead of Mr. and Mrs…
The itinerary at Naviva Four Seasons is built out bespoke to you and your vacation, each itinerary is different depending on whether you’re looking for rest and wellness or adventure and fitness. Food amenities are also bespoke, with no menus found on the resort and no restaurant, just la cocina de la casa. Instead, the food is made according to guests’ tastes and can be adapted however you request.

With one spa treatment included with your stay, Reiki and Shaman rituals on arrival, and bikes available for guests, everything is intimate, individual, and carefully curated to you.
There’s also a sustainability and eco-focus here, with source panels to capture humidity in the air and convert it to drinking water, miles of trails on the resort, open-air gym and arrival pavilion and even the weights in the gym carved out of stone, Four Seasons Naviva is all about bringing you back to nature through wild luxury.
