COMO Parrot Cay
A Private Island Resort

MARIA DIEGO
Although you’re just 575 miles away from Miami, and a quick and scenic 25-minute boat ride from Providenciales, COMO Parrot Cay is a private island boasting 350 days of sunshine, four miles of white sand beaches, sparkling turquoise water, and tropical landscapes. Because it is a private island resort, it feels very special to arrive by private boat transfer and it is more upscale than staying on the main island.
With holistic wellness, soothing interior decor with authentic Caribbean style, varying levels of accommodations, an extensive activity menu, this private island experience is like no other, and there’s something for everyone on this 1,000-acre island paradise.
Perfect For: Families | Couples | Honeymoons and Anniversaries | Wellness-focused travelers | Beach Lovers | Short Breaks from New York or Florida | Weddings | Corporate Events
COMO Parrot Cay

Location:

COMO Parrot Cay
COMO Parrot Cay is located on the island of Parrot Cay in the Turks and Caicos Islands, just a short 1 hour and 10 minute flight from Miami, FL or a 3.5Hrs flight from New York. Once you arrive on the Main Island of Providenciales, Parrot Cay is a 25-minute speedboat ride away.
Vibe:

COMO Parrot Cay is an award-winning resort that exudes effortless luxury. With over 1,000 acres of unspoiled nature, you can easily maintain privacy within the private island resort, but can just as easily socialise with other guests throughout your stay. Entry level rooms are located near the main lobby and restaurant and bar. These offer a range from garden view to a panoramic ocean view from the upper floors, but these rooms are all off long outdoor breezeways so have less privacy. If you want privacy, then I recommend the beachfront villas or residences, which range from a one-bedroom to six-bedroom options. The clientele at COMO Parrot Cay are fashionable, health- and wellness-conscious, looking to relax in an unpretentious environment, and enjoy a variety of good food. If this sounds like you, than COMO Parrot Cay will be a good fit.
ACCOMMODATIONS:

Designed by London designer, Keith Hobbs, the resort’s style combines traditional colonial decor such as teak four-poster beds with contemporary accents, flowing white cotton fabrics, and bright interiors, making the whole resort feel fresh, calming, and subtly luxurious.

The resort offers three different types of accommodation: Rooms, Beach Houses, and Villas, all of which have family options if you are traveling with kids. We help guide our clients to the best accommodation options, and our onsite partners are very thorough about placing Diego Travel clients in the best locations with the best views. The residences are all unique, so we can offer video walk-through to help you decide which one is right for you.

Guestrooms: With only 59 rooms, all either Garden View or Ocean-Facing, the number of guests that can stay at one time adds to the feeling of island exclusivity. In addition to family rooms, there are also COMO Suites and Beachfront Suites available. However, these only cater to up to one child and may not be suitable for all families. All rooms come with a stunning private balcony, a four-poster bed, and the resort’s signature design with fresh white decor and Balinese-style furniture. Some offer private plunge pools which make for the perfect honeymoon villa experience.

Beach Houses: The 14 beach houses are the perfect choice for a special occasion trip. There are six one-bedroom beach houses perfect for couples, three family beach houses, and five two-bedroom beach houses. All beach houses come with a private swimming pool or plunge pool, and family beach houses also come with a shower garden. The beach houses are all unique and are owned and frequented by a high-profile celebrity guest list. (I can’t tell you which ones, unless you call me, then maybe I’ll say!) For homes, Diego Travel clients recieve access to promos such as Stay 5, Pay 4 all year long, and beachfront categories are Stay 7, Pay 6. Our clients also receive breakfast included, priority upgrade and additional resort credit with their stay.

Villas: Experience the ultimate level of privacy and exclusivity by staying in one of the resort’s limited COMO Villas. The contemporary, fresh design and indoor-outdoor space make you feel at home in the stunning nature surrounding the resort. Each villa sleeps up to 6 guests and has two balconies, a private infinity pool, al fresco dining, full kitchen, three bedrooms all with king beds and personalised COMO Butler service throughout your stay. The butler service can be used for booking activities, advising guests on facilities, or assisting with tasks, so that you literally don’t have to lift a finger (or a phone) throughout your time on the island.
FOOD & BEVERAGE:
COMO Parrot Cay does an exceptional job of blending Caribbean dishes with Asian-inspired cuisine with their three dining options: Lotus, Terrace and COMO Beach Club.
During the day, Lotus serves light, Caribbean-style cuisine. In the evening, it serves contemporary Asian fusion cuisine. The restaurant has a reputation as one of the best in Turks and Caicos and the laid-back, poolside, oceanview dining makes this the perfect spot for casual dining or informal evening meals. I had the most delicious salad

Terrace is the resort’s formal restaurant with modern Italian cuisine. Located in the heart of the island and surrounded by lush greenery, you can dine here for breakfast or dinner or just grab drinks with panoramic views and al fresco dining.
COMO Beach Club is located on the main beach on Parrot Cay, and the way the beach club flows onto the pristine sandy beach with direct water access only adds to the relaxed vibe. This option is perfect for casual bites and drinks during the day or for cocktails and music after the sun sets.
ACTIVITIES:
The theme of activities at COMO Parrot Cay could really be “relax as much as you like” – because there are activities for whatever level of activity or relaxation you’re looking for!
From the holistic therapies at the Shambhala Retreat, to the hot tubs, saunas and miles of private beaches, you really won’t run out of things to do even if you are seeking total relaxation. Hot tubs and saunas can be used without an appointment, and daily yoga is complimentary for all guests.

If you’re looking for a more active vacation, COMO Parrot Cay also has you covered with an extensive activity menu that includes diving, mangrove kayaking, sailing, snorkeling, private fishing charters, and kiteboarding. And don’t forget the miles of hiking trails across the island too!
The island slopes gently from the beaches to a ridge in the center of the island with a 50ft elevation, perfect for hiking and rewarding views of the surrounding blue waters. With cactus groves, wetlands, and mangroves, the resort has diverse landscapes that are perfect for trying something new on your vacation.
For a special occasion, romantic evening, or the ultimate luxury experience, you can also book private sunset charters, yacht charters, or private dining charters.
The resort also boasts a 24-hour fitness center and lap pool as well as two outdoor tennis courts so you don’t need to worry about keeping up your fitness while on vacation!
COMO Parrot Cay Also has its own private movie theater and don’t forget the kids club for ages 4 and up as well as the babysitting services that the resort provides to keep your little ones occupied and having fun while you are too.

WELLNESS:
The wellness element of COMO Parrot Cay is where the resort really comes into its own.
Home to the world-famous and award-winning COMO Shambhala Retreat, there are multiple curated therapies and wellness activities throughout the day at the Retreat, which is located on the opposite side of the island from the guest accommodation.
The focus of the wellness facilities is to provide a complete sanctuary for guests to unwind in their sun-soaked pavilion overlooking the ocean. The Retreat provides personalized fitness regimes and holistic wellness therapies and treatments as well as a yoga and pilates studio, jacuzzi garden and sauna. One thing that I noticed is that many of the therapists here come from Asia. My masseuse was Balinese, and gave me one of the best massages of my life!

What Sets It Apart:

COMO Parrot Cay provides all of the services and amenities you would expect from an ultra luxury private island resort – private butler service, 24/7 manager, concierge and airport transfers, luxurious beach villas, state-of-the-art wellness, fitness and spa facilities, and spectacular beaches and views. But what sets it apart is the simplicity. The effortless elegance, understated exclusivity, fresh and calming design, and laid-back style make it a truly relaxing stay and a private island experience that makes you feel simultaneously pampered and right at home.

Diego Travel Loves…
While the resort’s Shambhala Retreat is the most famous aspect of the resort, they have managed to incorporate those Shambhala values into so many other aspects too. From the unique, organic dishes and healthful COMO Shambhala cuisine in the restaurants to the holistic approach to relaxation in the resort’s layout, decor, and aesthetic. After a blissful massage, I was relaxing in a breezy alcove reading a book, and an A-List celebrity came out and sat a few feet from me. I was told that she visits multiple times each year as the island lends itself to privacy.

How Much Does it Cost?
Prices start from $1,200 per night for rooms and $2,200 per night for suites.
Beach houses start from $4,600 per night while villas give you a dream vacation for roughly $14,300 per night.

Extras You’ll Get with Diego Travel:
- Upgrade on arrival, subject to availability
- Daily Full breakfast for up to two guests per bedroom, served in the restaurant and via in-room dining (already included in property rates)
- $100 USD equivalent Resort or Hotel credit to be utilized during stay (not combinable, not valid on room rate, no cash value if not redeemed in full)
- Bookings in our Beach House and higher categories will receive an additional $100 Resort or Hotel credit (for a total of $200 during your stay)
- Early Check-In / Late Check-Out, subject to availability
- Complimentary Wi-Fi
Diego Travel Insider Tips:
Ask about which private villa is owned by Keith Richards and available to rent!
If you have mobility issues, I do not recommend the garden view rooms, as there are many stairs going up and down to the main restaurant. Instead, I would recommend a beachfront villa and request golf cart transfers for your stay.

Summary
COMO Parrot Cay was a magical time to spend with my husband and son. While we visited almost every luxury property in Turks and Caicos, COMO Parrot Key had the unique position of combining high-level service with excellent food and beverage, and arguably the most beautiful beach in Turks and Caicos. With so much to do on the private island and less than 100 keys on the property, you feel truly looked after by the team here.

The island pines and lush, tropical landscaping at Parrot Cay was also very unique. The nearby Pine Cay, aptly named for the island’s many pine trees, was not as dense as Parrot Cay in some ways and a little more wild/less manicured. When comparing to Ambergris Cay, COMO Parrot Cay is much greener and more lush. The contrast between the dense interior with the white sand beaches and shallow water that you can walk out quite a ways is very unique.
When asked what is the perfect length of stay, my answer would be, “It depends.” You can easily spend 2-3 nights here, if you’re combining with another property like Amanyara or Rock House in Providenciales, or you could just as easily spend a week here. Return visitors are known to stay a month, if you’re really looking to disconnect and be on one of the best beaches in the world.
